Gateway Care pride ourselves on continued development of our staff to encourage and maintain a highly motivated qualified workforce therefore maintaining a high quality service for our service users

Following the recruitment procedure has been carried out our inductees are introduced to our Induction training. This is via a mixture of Face to Face learning and computer based testing. Once all courses are complete, our Registered Manager ensures that all pre employment checks are complete. Our new care workers are then asked to work alongside our senior care workers on a Shadow period before putting their training skills into practice.
All our Care Workers complete the following training courses:
  • Care Certificate
  • Manual Handling of Adults
  • Safeguarding of vulnerable Adults
  • Medication Administration
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Infection Control
  • Food Hygiene
  • Health & Safety
  • Dementia Awareness
  • First Aid
  • Mental Capacity & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • End of Life Care
Further training of QCF levels are offered following a 6 month probation period, all members of the team are encouraged to undertake further courses in specialist areas such as Epilepsy, PEG feeding, Stoma & diet & nutrition.
Following induction all of our staff are supported every 3 months receiving a spot check and supervision and are able to contact the office 24 hours a day through our on call service.
